In this webinar we will review the concept of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), how they are measured, and the associated risks in adults who have experienced adversity in childhood. We will examine ACEs in the context of AI/AN experiences. We also will discuss the resilience of individuals, families and communities in overcoming these risks.
1. Examine the influence of ACEs on adult health and well-being.
2. Differentiate between ACEs and diagnoses of trauma related health conditions.
3. Employ strategies to instill hope and foster resilience in children and families who have been exposed to ACEs.
